Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal Joven is an unaged mezcal that comes in a 750ml bottle and typically has 42% alcohol by volume (84 proof). It is made entirely from Espadín agave and produced in the village of San Luis del Río, Oaxaca, Mexico. The agave hearts are slow-roasted in underground pits with river rocks, giving the mezcal its signature smoky flavor. After roasting, the agave is crushed using a horse-driven stone wheel (tahona) and then fermented naturally in wooden vats, preserving its authentic taste. The spirit is distilled twice in small wood-fired copper stills, enhancing its complexity.
