With zero emissions, lower noise, and maximum versatility, the 18V LXT® Couple Shaft Power Head Kit with String Trimmer, Pole Saw, and Articulating Hedge Trimmer Attachments (4.0Ah) (XUX02SM1X5) is a welcome solution for a range of trimming and cutting applications. It’s powered by one Makita 18V LXT® Battery for performance and run time without the hassles of gas and without leaving the 18V LXT® battery platform. The Power Head features a lever-style lock system for quick tool-less installation and replacement of attachments. The XUX02SM1X5 kit includes the 13" String Trimmer Couple Shaft Attachment (EM409MP) featuring the rapid loading bump and feed trimmer head that loads line in seconds with three easy steps: align, feed and twist, the 10" Pole Saw Couple Shaft Attachment (EY402MP), which provides a seven foot fixed length for trimming hard to reach branches, and the 20" Articulating Hedge Trimmer Couple Shaft Attachment (EN402MP) that features 13 angle settings with 135° of working range for efficient trimming of overhead and low-lying hedges. The kit also features one 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 4.0Ah Battery (BL1840B), and one 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Charger (DC18SD). The Makita-built brushless motor delivers up to 9,700 RPM. The motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time per battery charge than similar non-brushless tools. The brushless motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life and electronic controls efficiently use battery energy to match the changing demands of the application for increased power and speed when needed.
